WEEKLY UPDATE

Temperatures soared and gameplay was in “oven” like conditions. The sweat started from the moment you walked through the doors. Well done to all teams keeping the mood light while maintaining a high level of competition. Great plays, amazing goals, stunning saves and an overall perfect night of hockey! Thanks to the players who played multiple games to ensure each team had enough bodies and oxygen!

Ball Handlers vs. Cindy Lauper’s Rox Stars

As the heat ramped up, CLRS brought their own heatwave taking a 3-0 lead into the 2nd period. They appeared to have full control and were ready to cruise to an undisputed victory, but BH had a team meeting at the half and started to mount their comeback. Scoring early and then in the later stages of the 2nd, they put a crack in the solid armour of CLRS but it was too little too late. CLRS hold down the fort and take the win 3-2!

Team Shawnanigans vs. West End Bombers

Our final matchup of the night didn’t fail to disappoint. Following the theme of the night, goals were back and forth with both teams changing leads in the blink of an eye. WEB took a 2-1 lead into the 2nd and then the floodgates opened. 5 more goals resulted in a 4-4 tie and a trip to the shootout. The goalies stole the show for both rounds and WEB looked to Mathieu Trepanier to bring home the victory. Taking matters into his own hands, Mathieu netted the game winner for a 5-4 WEB victory!
