WEEKLY UPDATE 

A reminder to please BRING BOTH WHITE AND BLACK SHIRTS

Week #6 at Belltown Dome delivered another exciting evening of hockey, with players showcasing strong teamwork, determination, and skill throughout the night. Fast-paced action and competitive play created plenty of scoring chances, while defensive efforts and timely saves helped keep games close and entertaining. The energy and enthusiasm continue to make Belltown Dome a great place for players to develop their game, compete hard, and have fun each week. Thank you to all players, coaches, and families for helping create such a positive and enjoyable hockey environment.

 

TOP 5 game day reminders to make you an MVP:

1) ARRIVE EARLY, at least 10 minutes early: This will allow you time to check in, get ready and warm-up.

2) BRING BOTH WHITE AND BLACK SHIRTS

3) NAME ON HELMET please before hitting the slab: Forgot? Tape, markers and scissors are by the rink door entrance.

4) WATER = your best teammate! Stay hydrated to play better!

RECAPS 

6pm - White C vs Black C

Team Black and Team White battled through a tightly contested ball hockey game that featured strong offensive efforts and determined defensive play. Team White received goals from Nathan Di Muzio and Kenny Armitage, while Team Black answered with goals from Karim Mazhar and Connor McCuaig, with Carter Hay earning an assist. After regulation ended in a 2-2 deadlock, the game was decided in a shootout, where Team Black emerged victorious. Kenny Armitage was named 1st Star after an outstanding performance for Team White. Connor McCuaig earned 2nd Star honours thanks to his key goal and strong all-around play, while Nathan Di Muzio was recognized as the 3rd Star for opening the scoring and contributing throughout the game. The Player of the Game award went to Kairo Akot, whose relentless effort, positive attitude, and never-give-up mentality brought energy to every shift on the slab.

7pm - White B vs Black B 

Team White delivered a dominant performance from start to finish, earning an impressive 7-0 victory through strong teamwork, quick puck movement, and relentless offensive pressure. Riley Usher opened the scoring with Noah Gerofsky picking up the assist, setting the tone for the rest of the game. Mason Manuel scored twice, while Aron Tyldum, Benjamin Davis, Elliot Francis, and Malcolm Speers each added goals of their own. Noah Gerofsky led the playmaking effort with three assists, while Niko Riel contributed two helpers and Elliot Francis added one assist. The game's 1st Star was Noah Gerofsky for his outstanding three-assist performance and excellent vision throughout the game. Mason Manuel earned 2nd Star honours after scoring twice and creating offensive opportunities all night long. Niko Riel was named the 3rd Star for his strong two-assist effort and steady play at both ends of the floor. Player of the Game went to Riley Usher, whose clutch opening goal helped spark the offense. Riley consistently found open space, made himself available for passes, and was a reliable option whenever his teammates needed an outlet. Goalie of the Night honours went to Leo Lagioia for an incredible display of endurance and skill. Playing back-to-back games, Leo faced 45 shots and allowed only six goals combined. His quick reflexes, composure under pressure, and numerous key saves helped keep his teams competitive throughout both games. Outstanding work between the pipes!

8pm - White A vs Black A 

From the opening faceoff, Team Black showcased excellent teamwork, crisp passing, and a relentless offensive attack that kept pressure on Team White throughout the game. Harjot Vaid set the tone early with a pair of goals, while Leo Parsons, Austin McInnis, David Spottswood, Julien Oliver, and several others contributed to a balanced scoring effort. Team Black carried an 8-1 advantage into halftime and continued to capitalize on their opportunities in the second half, eventually securing a commanding 14-2 victory. Austin McInnis had a spectacular game, contributing multiple goals and assists while driving the offense from start to finish. Harjot Vaid was a constant threat, recording a hat trick along with several assists. Leo Parsons also played a key role, scoring twice and helping create opportunities for his teammates. Additional goals came from Vincent Biron (hat trick), Édouard Lemieux (two goals), David Spottswood, and Julien Oliver. For Team White, Mathias Simpson and Joel Switzer found the back of the net, with assists coming from Mehdi El Kebir and Matthew Morrisey. Austin McInnis was named the 1st Star, Harjot Vaid earned 2nd Star honours, and Leo Parsons was recognized as the 3rd Star of the game. Player of the Game went to Julien Oliver, whose fast, sharp passes helped keep the offence moving and created numerous scoring chances for his teammates. His vision and unselfish play were key factors in Team Black's success and made him a deserving recipient of the honour.

While stats aren’t everything, part of introducing the kids to HTBHL is giving them a taste of what our adult leagues experience. The 3 stars listed in the schedule section of the website will primarily be selected based on game statistics, just as they are in our adult leagues. That said, we’ll also highlight players from each game who may not have scored a goal, but stood out through their teamwork, sportsmanship, and effort.
